Panel Changes & Upgrades

Electrical Panel

Is Your Electrical Panel Putting You at Risk?

From powering advanced business infrastructure and heavy machinery to supporting modern home appliances and backup generators, today’s electrical panels face higher demands than ever before. Without a professionally designed setup, a panel can quickly become insufficient or dangerously overloaded. At Elemental Electrical, we specialize in the precision installation and replacement of electrical panel upgrades, subpanels, fuse boxes, and GFCI protection for both residential and commercial properties.

Wondering If a Panel Upgrade is Worth the Investment?

First and foremost, safety is the foundation of any property. Many of Chattanooga’s charming older homes and historic commercial buildings were constructed with electrical panels that simply weren’t designed for today’s high-tech demands. From modern office infrastructure to high-capacity appliances, these outdated systems can lead to overloaded circuits, frequent outages, and significant fire hazards.

By investing in a modern panel upgrade, you aren’t just increasing your power capacity—you are protecting your business assets, your historic architecture, and the safety of your family or employees from potential electrical hazards.

Our Electricians Provide Prompt Service for Homeowners and Business Owners Alike

Our team is diligent and responsive to the needs of the entire Chattanooga community. Whether you are managing a household or a commercial property, your main breaker panel is the heart of your electrical system, responsible for distributing power safely and efficiently.

If your panel is failing, the signs are often clear: appliances or office equipment may power cycle unexpectedly, or simply plugging in a vacuum or a high-draw tool could leave you in a dark room. These are critical indicators that your current panel cannot handle the increased demand of modern technology. When a circuit is overloaded, the breaker switch trips to prevent a fire; if it refuses to reset or keeps tripping, it’s time for a professional intervention.

At Elemental Electrical, we specialize in diagnosing these issues and providing seamless panel replacements or subpanel additions to keep your property running smoothly. Best of all, all of our work begins with a free estimate, so you can make an informed decision for your home or business without any upfront cost.

Seth and his crew were amazing! They came and diagnosed an issue we had for two years with our electricity blowing our home’s main breaker. Something that may have started a fire and different company couldn’t figure out! Having just had hip surgery, I was scared it would continue to trip, cutting all power, including the heat during some of the coldest days of the year. They were quick, efficient, and knowledgeable. Seth even found the problem to be not as extensive as first thought, which took quite a nice amount off our total price. Talk about honest! Great work, guys! We will definitely be loyal customers!

Joel and Eli were great. I love that I could get quick service on a small job. They replaced 3 light fixtures and were awesome to talk to. Very dedicated to clean up afterwards. The owner answered phone/texts quickly and communicated perfectly from scheduling through finish. They showed up on time and did great work. Wife and daughter are very happy!

This Company is Super Great! These men are so kind and hard working. They go above and beyond the limits of their profession. They were really considerate of my disabilities and helped with things that I couldn’t do. They communicated great with the city officials and also with me to keep me informed about what they were going to do! I highly recommend the whole team, and feel like their family. Very Trustworthy. Knowledgeable, Efficient. and Professional! I would definitely be calling them again for any and all things electrical. Top notch service. I would definitely recommend them to you!!!!

I have a house that was built in 1960 with a bunch of electrical issues. I was turning a garage into another room that needed a complete rewiring job. They did a fantastic job removing old aluminum wiring and running new wiring. I would hire them in a heartbeat again for any other electrical work. Very professional and quality work.

Seth and his crew are very professional, communicate well, and do top notch work at a very reasonable rate! They went above and beyond even though the job was way more complicated than it looked. Now my lights and plugs all work as they should. Completed the job in a timely manner (over the weekend!) and made sure that all details were covered. He also gave us a workmanship and parts warranty. Will be using Elemental Electrical for any other future projects.

We were very impressed with their professionalism, their communication, and the way they conducted the work. They were there as scheduled worked until the project was complete. It is hard to find contractors who are good to their word. We would use them again without hesitation.

It was a pleasure having Elemental Electrical do my whole home rewire! They were very flexible in working with my schedule to complete the job. I am one that usually asks a lot of questions and Seth was always willing explain things. We were able to talk through everything that was going to be done and customize the work to my vision for my home. I highly recommend Elemental Electrical for any electric work!

Exceptional service and quality work under difficult time constraints. Highly recommend. Had my meter panel replaced and service brought out 75 feet to our new pool.

Seth Toker does great work. He may not be the cheapest option, but I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying, “you get what you pay for”. When it comes to electrical do not look for the cheapest option, instead look for the person who knows what they are doing. Seth and his company are great at troubleshooting problems and coming up with solutions that meet electrical code requirements. They are fast, professional, and get the job done quick. Keep his number saved in your phone in the event you ever need an electrician.

Elemental electrical has come to my rescue multiple times, and likely will again in the future. I owned an old, stacked washer/dryer unit which tried to give up the ghost at an inopportune time. Seth came out to fix the appliance and did so quickly and professionally. That specific item was very old and continued to work for months, which bought me the time I needed instead of having to replace it immediately. I’ve utilized this company for their fast response towards anything electricity based, and I have never been disappointed. They’re an honest and experienced option. One that I regularly suggest to friends and clients alike.

If you’re looking for the highest quality assistance PLUS kindness and mindfulness from local talent, your search stops here! Personally, I find it can be hard to know where to start or who to trust with things like electrical services. This can be especially nerve-wracking when inviting someone into your home as a single woman. I’ve never felt more comfortable with someone working around my living space. Seth has wonderful attention to detail, integrity, and a true respect for the safety of his work.

Emily M.

Seth is easy to work with, prompt and doesn’t do work that doesn’t need to happen. He is there to take care of your needs, not add on to your bill! Can’t recommend him enough!

The house that EE worked on is nearly 70 years old. One other electrical contractor that we had look at it with less experience in older houses – said it was to much of a mess for them to tackle. It had few grounded outlets and no smoke detectors. EE visited the site and developed a proposal to bring the house up to code and install power for the new HVAC system. The house had ceil heat and window ACs before the new installation. The work was completed quickly and
professionally! We will definitely use EE for more projects.

  • Frequent circuit breaker trips
  • Burning smell near the panel
  • Warm or hot panel surface
  • Flickering lights
  • Rust or corrosion inside the panel
  • Buzzing or crackling sounds

If you notice any of these, have a licensed electrician inspect it immediately.

Most electrical panels last about 25–40 years. If your panel is older than that, it may not meet modern safety standards or handle today’s electrical demands. Older fuse boxes especially should be upgraded.

Yes. An overloaded or faulty panel can overheat, causing wiring insulation to melt and potentially start an electrical fire. Faulty breakers may also fail to trip, increasing fire risk.

Yes. Some older panels have been linked to safety concerns, including:

  • Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) – Known for breakers that may fail to trip properly.
  • Zinsco – Panels reported to overheat and have breaker issues.

If your home has one of these panels, consider professional evaluation or replacement.

You should consider upgrading if:

  • You’re adding major appliances (HVAC, EV charger, etc.)
